Nauvoo Trip

On the way to Nauvoo, C woke up from his nap and took his hat off and this was his hair. Such a cute boy.

We ARRIVED!! C was loving the flowers at the Temple, we could not get anywhere we kept having to stop and tell him to hurry.

The graves of The Prophet Joseph Smith, his wife Emma and his brother Hyrum Smith. It's a very peaceful feeling once you come to this place. Alan was very touched just knowing who was burried there.
Picture speaks for itself. C could not get enough of that stroller. He hasn't been in a stroller since he was just months old, so he was really enjoying it, which made our lives easy, except when the stroller wouln't fit. He makes life interresting.
Blacksmith shop, we got some really cool nail rings, C got one of his very own, small enough to fit his little fingers.
We took a break before the pageant started and got some lunch at a pizza place about 2 miles out of town.
There was a Pageant pre-show with dancing and games and food. These are the Bagpipers, I wanted a picture with them because Alan and C are Scottish. I wish we would have brought C's kilt, oh well. They were very good, and some were so young. P.S. Ignore the big hips and little belly popping out.

These were some of the games, they had bean bags and a puppet show and these little houses they could get pictures with or just run around.
We took a potty break and C was very interested in them. After we did our business we realized that the big white building in back were actual bathrooms. :)
C during the Pageant. He did so well, we changed him into his jammies, he was a little fussy at first but then he konked out until the next morning. Such a cutie.
This is the last scene of the Pageant, the Saints in front of th Temple. They had it all blacked out for the play and then at the end they gradually lit it up. It was beautiful. As they lit it up they had Pres. Hinkley's voice over the sound system speaking of the Nauvoo Temple as Joseph Smith's temple; I believe it was a clip from his speach at the Dedication.

We had such a grea time. It is so beautiful here, the drive was so beautiful I couldn't go to sleep. We want to make this trip again soon. Any friends or family that want to go, we'd love for you to come.

C and His Weird Sleeping Habbits

This is the cutest short story. We were driving around running errands and I look back at C and he had taken one of his shoes off, which is a regular occurance, and I coul hear him playing with it. Later I look back and he had it in his mouth chewing on it. I didn't care 1. because he was happy and 2. because he is cutting all four of his canines, so he needed something to chew on. Anyway, it got quiet so I looked back again and started to laugh so hard, because this is what I saw. He had fallen alseep with it in his mouth. When we got to our destination I took some pictures and tried to get it out of his mouth. He had clamped down so hard, I had to pry it out, without waking him of course. I had ever seen his so conked out. Even when we got to the grocery store after this, he was asleep sitting up in the cart. Very fun day.
This is that same day. I guess he was a tossin and a turnin.

Summer Fun in IOWA

"UmmEeee" as C would say. It is very humid in Iowa, so that is why he does not have any clothes on. If none of us had to wear clothes, this whole state would be naked...I promise.

Ya, we have really green grass and a lot of weeds thanks to the humidity, I love it, but we have to mow like twice a week. Or we should, we usually let it go about a week or two.

Yes! I Found IT!!!!!

Oh Mama Mia! I found my long lost engagement ring today. I am so relieved and just plain happy, I kissed it when I found it. I remember now the hiding spot that I had it in. Oh it feels so good. Too bad my fingers are already swollen, it's a little uncomfortable to wear, but it's worth it.
