Calvy

C: Mom can I tell a reindeer I want Buzz and Woody for Christmas?
M: Yes.
C: K, you go get a reindeer so I can tell him I want Buzz and Woody?
M: How about we just write them a letter. Do you want to write them a letter and put it in the mail for them?
C: There's not a reindeer in the mailbox.

C: You want to go play ring around the rosy wiss me?
M: I can't right now bud, I'm working.
C: Mommy, it will be fun....

C: Daddy, can I smell your blue eyes?
D: Sure.
C: Wow, those smell like shnoogybuzz(his language).

While sticking his head through the opening on the back of our dining chair...
C: Mom, wook I'n like a mermaid.
M: You're like a mermaid?
C: No, I'n like a strong man. Mom you be a mermaid.

When we went to see Santa this last weekend Calvy was excited to tell Santa what he wanted, but when it came down to it, he was too afraid to sit on his lap, but warmed up enough to tell him what he wanted from the safety of his Daddy's lap. After he told him and we were about to leave he was upset because he didn't get his Buzz and Woody. Apparently we didn't explain enough....
Elle loves to dance and be a girl, and a tough girl at that. She is so fun, she just wants to be big just like the rest of the kids around her. She is almost a year old and I can't get over it, it's just crazy! Calvy is almost 3!!!!! Ahhhhhh!

We're Expecting.....

...some snow today, on Thanksgiving! What is up with that! I miss being in Arizona to be able to play outside and even eat outside. My favorite memories are of us meeting together as a HUGE extended family and eating out in our backyard on the picnic tables and then jumping on the trampoline and playing on the swing set and watching movies and just having a blast with family. I love family, I love the comfort level you have with family, that you feel you can eat so much to where you feel you could puke and then let out your pants without being judged.
I am thankful for many things on this wonderful Holiday. I am thankful for my friends and how much like family they are to me. I am thankful for an oven that works, that I am able to bake up a storm. Something I am very thankful for, which may seem weird, but I love having ingredients to things I am baking. I love being able to read a recipe and look in my cupboards and find everything I need. I was trying to describe this feeling to Alsy last night and figures out that it's kind of a feeling of being established, that I am able to have everything I need in my own home.
I am thankful for the knowledge that I continue to gain, and the knowledge that I have. I know that I have a Father in Heaven who never tires of my voice, who welcomes me everytime I call upon Him, even when I have made many mistakes. I am thankful for the knowledge that this life is eternal, that I get to be with my family and my husband FOREVER. There is no greater blessing. I am thankful that I am able to better myself, to repent of my mistakes and move on to live a better life. All of this is possible because of the greatest gift that has ever been given, our Savior. I hope we can all remember this beautiful gift this season, that we would ask ourselves "What would Jesus do?" It might be a cliche, but if you break down what the words really mean, it means a lot. To try and serve like our Savior, a person who never made a mistake someone who was in every way, perfect.
I love this time of year, it is a great time to sit and relflect on what great things we have done in the past year instead of looking at what we could have done better.
I love you all! Happy Thanksgiving.

Oh, and BTW we aren't expecting just snow....coming soon, July 3rd. Happy Holidays!

We have been trying to teach Calvy the difference between his right and left hands, but he always reverts back to his "spot hand". He has a freckle on his left hand, if I ask him to shoe me his spot hand he knows exactly which one it is without even looking. So who needs right a left?

C. Mom I'll just hold it in my spot hand.
M. You want to hold it in your spot hand?
C. Yes, I just hold it in my spot hand.

C. Mommy, I eat bagels.
M. Yes you do eat bagels.
C. I don't eat beetle bugs though.
M. No, you don't eat beetles.
C. Or lady bugs.
M. Nope.
C. Or spider webs.

Ellie is standing all by herself, I know I have said this already, but it's so funny, she just wants to stand all the time. She has taken a few steps but nothing major, she just started walking with us while holding only one hand. She tries to talk to us all the time, she'll come over while we're talking and she'll just jabber around just like she's carrying on the conversation.

Ellie-isms:
bu bu=bye bye
bah bah= bottle
mama=mom
dada=dad
na na=no no
nah ni=Nixon
hi=hello

She's getting so big, I can't believe it. I love my babies, they are amazing, they make everyday so fun.

I want to write a little about my hubby. We celebrated our 6th year wedding anniversary on Saturday. It has been an amazing 6 year journey, which is definitely FAR from over, which actually makes me really excited, life would be SO boring without trials and tribulations. I love Alsy more today than I did the day I married, even more than the day I fell in love with him. So in celebration I am going to tell out "love story".
Alsy and my cousin, Dustin, are best friends and have been since high-school. When my cousin moved from Phoenix to Mesa I got to hang out with him a lot more. Alsy would visit time and again from Phoenix, but I didn't see him often, but whenever I did, I was in LOVE. He was so dreamy, I just wanted him to love me too, but I was 14 and he was 18, so needless to say, he was NOT interested, but that didn't stop me from trying. I flirted and tagged along and tried to get him to fall in love with me, lets just say it didn't work. About a year later when Dustin was leaving on his mission he had an open house and of course Alsy was there, I had another chance. We went on a hooligan outing for one last thrill before his mission, and there I was in the backseat. I had so much fun, I just knew I could get him to like me. When we got back we hung out at Dustin's house for a while and I laid the flirting on REALLY thick, when I look bad I'm pretty embarrassed, but I asked Alsy and he said he didn't really remember, I think it was a blessing. ;0) Well not too long after it was Alsy's turn to leave on his mission. I didn't get to go to his "Farewell" but I went over to my Aunt Gails house(Dustin's mom) and I talked with her about Alsy, she called him for me so I could say good bye. So I had a little conversation with him which was pretty pointless to him I'm sure, but it was heaven to me. After I hung up the phone I remember talking to my aunt and saying"wouldn't it be weird if we got married?" She was totally up for the idea, she loves Alsy and me so she thought it would be perfect. I remember not wanting to jinx it so I didn't think about it any more. Well, he left and I wrote him a few times before I got annoyed witht he generic letters I would get in return. I moved on and had boyfriends and moved in with my sister in Utah. Alsy coming home was always a reason for me to move back home, I never really forgot him. So he came home in August and I went home in November to visit. I went over to my Aunts house to hang out and while I was there Alsy came over to pick up Dustin to go hiking or something. I was there in the kitchen when he came in, and he has since told me that I when he walked in and saw me in the kitchen with my glasses on that he thought I was WAY hot! He said that he hadn't ever thought of me as a girlfriend until he was almost done with his mission, he was showing a picture to another missionary and I happened to be in it and the other missionary was asking who I was and Alsy said that "oh don't worry about her she's like 15" the other missionary pointed out that maybe I was 15 when he left butnow I would be older. Anyway back to the kitchen; I was NOT interested in Alsy, I had a boyfriend back in Utah and he had gotten a little chubby around the middle and he buzzed his head, so the roles had switched. So we hung one night while I was there and Alsy was really interested, but I was playing a little hard-to-get and I had a boyfriend. So the day that I was heading home Alsy called me to make sure that he thanked me for such a fun night. It was actually pretty sute because he walked out of church to do it. So I went back to Utah and thought about Alsy a lot, I ended up breaking up with that boyfriend and moved back home. So that started it, we started dating. Our first kiss was on New Years Eve 2003, and we were married November 2003. It has been amazing, I LOVE being with him, I am a better person because of him. I am so thankful fo marriage and for being able to find Alsy, we really were meant for eachother, everything fell right into place. I love him with all of my heart! I love you Babe!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The way his mind works....

M. Why don't you listen to mommy?
C. Mom I have poopoo in my ears.
M. Uh......

(Later on in the car while I was telling Daddy about the poopoo in the ears.)

D. Poopoo in his ears?
M. Ya. I don't know where he gets these things.
D. Did you tell mom you had poopoo in your ears?
C. Ya, mommy was just putting poop in my ears.

New Happenings

Sunday Morning
C. I just don't want to pee on mommy.
D. Ok bud.
C. I just pee on the bed.

While he his sitting on my lap
C. I don't wanna toot on you.
M. ok, thank you
C. I just not toot on Mommy.
...Silence...
C. I just not pee.
M. Did you just pee?
C. no I just not pee, or poop.
M. Okay.

After he woke up from his nap..and yes he was still in his jammies, we have jammie issues.
C. I have ground food in my jammas.
M. You have ground food?
C. Ya, I have ground food in my jammies, you put ground food in your slippers.(yes I had slippers on)
I'm not sure what ground food is but I'm assuming it's the food that falls on the ground after meals. Maybe I should sweep more often, too bad I only "love" it sometimes.

I wish I was better at writing these down right away or be able to remember them all, but there are just too many. Elle is so close to walking. I walked down the hall on Sunday morning and there she was, just standing there drinking her bottle. She is so random it cracks me up. She loves to be independent and has her own little personality. She has these squinty eyes that she does to express her feelings. It's really funny, I'll have to see if I have a picture of it.
I am thankful for my family, I wouldn't have the opportunity to be a great wife without Alan, and I our kiddos give us the opportunity to become great parents. Key word being opportunity. ;0)

One more for the record book.

Calvy: Can I have my crayon?(referring to the orange crayon in the bathroom garbage)
Mommmy: No.
Calvy: Please, it's not garbage.
Mommy: No bud, it's broken.
Calvy: Don't poop on it. Okay mommy.

C: Do you want to play dinosaurs wiss me Daddy?
Daddy: I can't right now bud, I gotta study.(It's finals week)
C: You wanna play Dinosaurs wiss me?
Daddy: I really can't bud, I'm sorry.
C: You want play dinosaurs wiss me?
Daddy: Yes! Let's go. :)

C: What did you do?
Dinosaur: _______
C: Why did you do that?
Dino:______
C: You don't break his house. You go to Time out.

This last one I heard Elle crying and walked I to see Calvy hitting her(even as I am typing this he is asking me if I want to play with his dinosaurs) .
This was our conversation:

M:What happened?
C: Uh....
M: Why is baby sister crying?
C: Uh, she is poopy.

Calvy says the funniest things these days, I just have to document them. He is so fun to play with and listen to. He teaches his dinosaur all about Heavenly Father and Jesus and how Jesus died and that he got owies on his hands and feet. He's such a fun little boy with such an amazing personality. We love him more than we ever thought we could love another person.

My Better Half

I know that to some it is annoying to read about other wives bragging about how wonderful their husbands are and how much they love them, so.....if that is you then you might want to click that little red "x" up in the right hand corner( and for those of you with a MAC, click that red circle, wherever it pops up) as for the rest of you, buckle up for a super sappy post.
I am so blessed to have Alsy in my life. I really do not know what I would be without him, he truly makes me want to be a better person. He gives, and takes, but mostly gives. We have been redecorating...again...and I am one of those people who have a hard time envisioning how things are going to look, so I am therefore a "furniture mover" (Becky (0;) I have to see that piece of furniture in the particular spot before I can say I like it or I hate it. So today I decided I wanted this piece of furniture in the closet to create some more shelving in our play room. Alsy told me that it wouldn't work the way that I am envisioning it, I tend to have an alternate reality in my mind that seems to seep out into the decorating of my house. If I see a pic in a magazine that I like I go home to make my room look the same, and for some reason I think that my hand-me-down furniture re-arranged in this different way that it will magically turn into this magazine cover furnature. So anyway, Alsy tries to bring me down off of that, but like today, it doesn't always work. So, back to the piece of furniture, we realize it isn't going to fit with the closet doors on, so he taked them off, even though he had said that he still didn't think it would work, but I wanted to try. It didn't work, so he decides that if he takes the piece of furniture apart that it might fit that way. So he takes it apart and we slide it it and as he is just about to shimmy behind the piece to put it all back together, I tell him it's not what I was envisioning and asked if we could just take it out. Now I was not being miss spoiled brat, I really didn't want him to take it all apart, but he knew that I was not yet convinced so he did it anyway. So long story short, 2 1/2 hours later the furnature is out of the closet put back together and the doors back on and everything back the way it was before he helped me. To top it off he took this time away from studying for his finals, which he is actually very nervous about. Then to top it off even more, I told him that I was sorry for being the way that I am and having to see it, and taking him aways from studying for such a long time, and this is what he says back to me, "it doesn't matter what we are doing, just being with you is what I like to do". That did it! ;0) I love him so much, I am so grateful for him and the overwhelming love that he has for me. He is definitely my better half.

Disclamer: this post in no way tries to portray a perfect life, said people are always looking to be better and hit MANY bumps along the way, but they try to enjoy them. "Try" being the key word.

So many things...too little patience.

I know I'm cute...but this is my family...my real family....not my fake family that we portray on Sundays. You know you know what I'm talking about.

I love to blog, but if you remember from my last post, I have the worlds slowest computer...well that is if you aren't counting my mom's. ;0)
I had to blog about my kiddos for a sec. Calvy is the cutest boy I have ever had(he has to be because he is my only boy) I would say in the whole world, but I know I'd offend the mothers of all the other "cutest boy in the world". So now that we have established that, we can get down to the nitty gritty of why Calvy is the cutest boy. During family prayer he was giving thanks for all his blessings. "thank you for my toys, thank you for this day, thank you for the YMCA, etc." and then he says " thank you for the food....." you could almost hear the wheels turning in his head then he says with a smile on his face, "there's no food here." We could not hekp it, we busted up laughing, it was so hard to finish the prayer after that.
Elle has been a little handful lately, she is already standing on her own. She is such a little stinker, she does nothing for recognition or pleasure on our part. When I want her to stand she refuses, she turns her legs into little spagetti noodles, and not the thick kind, it's more like Angel hair pasta. But when she is just doing it on her own and I start to notice and she notices that I noticed...Angel hair. She is such a little fart, and I love all of her stinky little self. She is also starting to talk. I guess it shouldn't surprise me because this is about the time that Calvy started saying his famous words, "What is that?". I have been teaching her sign and it's so funny because as I am saying the word milk and doing the sign she does the sign back while saying the word. When we come in the room she says hi and waves. The other night we were sitting on our bed with the kids we decided to teach her the sign for "thank you". Again she decided she'd just say the word, but this time she cut the signing out, she must have figured out that saying it works just as well. She cracks me up.
I love being a mother. When I think about having more I get a little anxiety, but I know that I will have more moments like these and I know that it will be hard, but it will be so fun at times too. I love my family, they are my most prized possession, I would do anything for them, they are my life.
I'll end by saying, "I believe the children are our future"-Whitney Houston

Computer Woe's

I have so many pictures that I would love to post, but because I have the SLOWEST computer that has ever been made, it is not happening. I am going to attempt it, but if there is not a post after this one you know what my night was like. You know....."oh my gosh!" "seriously!" then some slamming of the hands against the desk, maybe some cursing under my breath, and maybe even a couple close calls of my computer ending up on the floor....in pieces.
Hope everyone is doing well.

My Thumbs are Definitely NOT Green.

This is evidence of my non-gardening skills. The saddest thing about these pictures is that both of these plants were gifts. This small rose bush was a Birthday present from my girlfriend and the other outdoor plant was a Mother's Day gift from my friend next door. I'm sorry friends, I do love you and I do love your gifts....my gardening skills are just lackin in the crackin.

Sweet pic though huh????

....Again.....

Train ride.

Ok so we went to the Zoo again, and I am blogging about it all on the same day....I have been away from the computer for a while now. So Alsy got out of school and we rushed over to the Zoo to take advantage of our free day. It was SO fun, it was the first time he had ever been to this Zoo, funny huh especially with all the times we have gone. :) I forget what these birds are called but they sre fun, you get to go inside the cage with them and if you want you can buy some nectar for a dollar and they fly all over you. It is such a blast.

Train Ride.
Snack after the Carousel ride.
She is not a big fan of the up and down.
I love his goofy cheesy smile.

If you look real close you can see her SUPER boogery nose. :) My awesome friend Tori gave me her double stroller when she got a new one. She's awesome, the most spoiled girl I know....but not a bratt and the most giving. I love you Tori!
Checkin out the Lions. Alsy couldn't get over how big they were.

C was not a huge fan. He likes to get close and look, but does NOt....repeat NOT want to touch.
A little out of order, but this is at the petting zoo part of the Zoo. We get foor for a quarter and feed the goats. They have all kinds of animals, but this is all we fed. The goats are so cute they are called pigmy goats and they don't bite they just use their lips and toungue to scoop up all the food in your hand. They are really fun,
So, I am not a huge fan of me in this picture but I had to show it, it was so funny to have them all over me, it freaked me out a little, I was afraid they would poo on me. No poop happened just lot so fun. Alsy calls this picture the "Bird Lady"....hopefully not that bad. ;)

Little C gettin braver tryin to touch the birdy. It was so fun.

The Niabi Zoo....Again.

We love the Zoo...especially of FREE Friday in September. This is the two munchkins on the Carousel.
This was her second time on the Carousel, but the first time being big enough to look around and see.
We love the Train ride too, thanks to our friend Tori we got on FREE.
C showing of his Train Ticket. He held onto that thing for the whole ride and even when we got home. He's such a cutie.

Playin Around

These are our neighbors, they are our favorite. They have given us a great about a million baby toys and bottles and a carseat and about a million other things, they are awesome. Every time they clean out a closet or their garage we always end up with fun new toys. The kids found some doggie treats and the mom said that they kept saying that Nixon(our dog) would like to have them so they brought them over. They are awesome. Anyway, this is us playing in our front yard.
C's little belly!

Elle and her baby doll.
Wrestling time. These kids are so fun, C just loves to play with both of them, he learns a lot of great moves from this little boy, like how to jump off of things and new wrestling moves. ;)

Same Temple Trip as Below

My friends husband(who is also my friend) took some pictures of my kiddos for me while we were in the Temple. He's so nice. Thanks Rich("you must be rich because your name begins with RICH") ;)
This is C and his cute friend. I love these two pictures because of his stance. He has been really into super heroes and Spider man and all kinds of BOY things. So this is him shooting a gun. I'm not quite sure where he learned it, but I'm guessing his Daddy.

These were so cute to look at on the drive home. I can just see C trying so hard to keep her there, she is such a "free" spirit.
I love this one because of the silhouette of the Temple in the background. It was a great trip, I love going to Nauvoo. Thanks Beck!!!!!

Nauvoo Temple

For those of you who do not know the Nauvoo Temple is our Temple, so when my friend asked if I wanted to do a session with her I was thrilled, so that is why we always seem to be in Nauvoo. It's such a beautiful place, every time we go I love it more and more. Alsy and I were able to go this lat weekend,( I didn't get any pictures) it was such a treat to be with him and to spend the day together. Being the weekend all the sessions for the whole weekend filled up on Thursday, so we ended up doing Sealings, which was amazing, I wouldn't have had it any other way. I love the Temple, it makes us stronger, better individuals. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve and to be served.
C is so cute, when we got to Nauvoo and we got out of the car and started walking toward the temple he looked up pointed at the Temple and said "that's the Nauvoo Temple!" That little moment was to die for, all our Family Home Evenings are paying off. He's such a cutie, we will definitely be keeping him for a while. :)

My awesome friends let me take some pictures with their sweet lense, which I will be getting for Christmas. I got some cute shots of C messing with the flowers.
I think they were bugging his nose, because he kept scrunching it up and touching it. So cute.

Quick Trip to Indiana

So I realized that I had never posted our trip to Indiana. It was such a fun, but very quick trip. I had so much fun seeing my sister. I realized while we were there that I don't really even know who she is any more. She is a grown woman with a husband and son. It kinds weirded me out, even still while looking at the pictures it's weird for me. I love her so much and her sweet little baby boy. I wish her husband could have shared the weekend with us too. This is a picture of us at Cracker Barrel for breakfast the day we parted ways....SO sad.
I'm not sure if you can tell but we are sisters, and we are 16 months apart. Growing up we had the same color hair and were pretty much the same height and wore matching clothes(something she HATED, but something I LOVED) so everyone always thought we were twins. I love my sister, she is one of the sweetest people you'll meet, she has a very giving heart and is such a great person inside and out.
My poor dad was so sad to see his little grandson go. He kept saying the while weekend how he didn't want to say goodbye. Hopefully my house and little family weren't too much of a disappointment for him. ;)
My dad taking pictures of little C playing in the mirror.
Just hanging out i our hotel room before breakfast. We had had a LONG night the night before just staying up and talking. It was my birthday the day we got there so when we got the hotel everyone kept saying maybe she should take you to your room and then we'll go to dinner. I just kept saying let's just go, I'm starving and I want me some Texas! They finally got me in there and I realized why there was such a push to get me in there. They had decorated the whole room with streamers and balloons and presents. It was so fun to be welcomed like that. I love surprises so I totally LOVED this. I took pictures but they are on my other camera...before I got my SWEET one for my B-day. All in all it was a blast, I was so sad that it was so short, it almost doesn't even seem like it happened, almost like a dream. Mattie and I have said that we will do it again just so we can hang out once and a while. I love you Mattie!!!! I can't wait to see you again....soon.

Random pictures because I got a new camer!!!! Woot Woot.

Blessing pictures, long time comin. I went and got them "professionally" done and they totally stink, so I waited and waited and finally got my camera so I could do them myself. Luckily she still fits in her dress.
I need a real backdrop...what do you think. ?
My best friend gave me these awesome boots for Elle. So I dressed her up like a cowboy..really... she looked like a boy, so you see her boots.
This is Mr. C in the morning playing with his flashlight.
She had a little leftover tear from a previous cry, I thought it was so cute. I love taking pictures! I love my camera! Thanks Hanna for giving us such a good deal. You rock!

Events while I was busy not blogging. ;)

My mom made this dress and bought the suit for Calvy, and my SIL Jourdan made the headband, beautiful huh. She sells them. Don't they look so cute!!!!
Playin around

Birthday party.
Birthday party.
Alsy pulled this huge tree out from the side of the house, it cost us $15 bucks to throw it away.
