Family Foto Shoot

We had such a blast, Erica was so incredibly patient with us and our 2 kiddos. Some of you may think I am brave to have our family pictures done at 39 weeks and 3 days, but I have always wanted belly shots and this is the smallest I have ever been while pregnant so I wanted to take advantage of it.
The pictures turned out so cute, we are so happy to have these done, and can't wait to be able to get the WHOLE family in next time.
Love to you all, hope you have a great July 4th! I'll keep you posted on baby news...3 more days!

There are more, but this is all I have patience to post. ;0) Nixon's so cute.

Count your MANY blessings

Calvy:

M: Do you want to wear tennis shoes or sandals?
C: Uh, sandals.
M: OK, go pick the ones you want.
C: I want these ones (brown flip-flops)
M: OK, do you want help?
C: No, I can just do it myself.
M: Oops, wrong foot.
C: Oh..(switches feet) Ok, what do Scarlet Macaws eat, ice-cream on Sunday or Bananas?
M: Um, bananas.
C: Yup. OK, Tapirs eat fruit too. And what do baby jaguars eat? They eat meat, lots of meat, they need like the whole animal.
M: Oh, really?
C: Yup.

C: Remember last night when you were a little girl and you left your baby doll at the store and you never saw it again?
*He wanted to take his Buzz and Woody into the grocery store so I told him a story of how I left my favorite baby at a store and never saw it again. I told him that last week and he said this to me yesterday.

Ellie:

E: Mommy, mommy, mommy.
M: What Ellie?
E: Something in Ellie language
M: Oh ya?
E: Ya.

She has learned how to say her "S" sounds so now instead of "ya" all the time, it is "Yesssss", and instead of "nye" it's "niccccce". Our kids are growing up right before our eyes, I can't believe that my baby is not a baby any more and that I am having another baby.

Life is full of surprises, and I often look at my life and think "is this really my life", "how did I get here?"....in a good way. I am amazed at how many blessings we have, we are truly a blessed family, we have our health and a wonderful home that we love and wonderful family and friends who love us. I love my husband more today than ever before, he is wonderful in every way. I catch glimpses of the 19 year old boy that I fell in love with more often these days, it is almost like falling in love all over again, I love the way he says my name and when we touch it's like electricity again, any little touch and shoulder brush or his fingertips on my hand and every kiss makes me love him more. He is everything I want and more in a spouse, he is my best friend and I am so thankful for him and his devotion to me and our family. Heavenly Father couldn't have sent me a better match. I love you Babe.

HeeBeeGeeBees! EEWW!

Just guess what this is! Yes those my friend are fly eggs, and this is what I found in my food tonight as I was cleaning up. So it took me a while to get dinner leftovers put away this evening, and we have had a ridiculous amount of flies in the kitchen(I HATE them). As I was about to scoop the taco meat into a container I noticed this little white spec of something, I looked closer and this is what I saw. I asked Alan if they were fly eggs and he said he didn't know, so I scooped them out with my finger so I could inspect more closely, even thought I have washed my hands I still can't get myself to use that finger, especially to scratch my face when I get the heebeegeebees. I am SO beyond grossed out right now. I HATE flies they are disgusting dirty little things, and I am sure I would not miss them if they all left this earth.

Ugh! I am still wigging out. Yuck!

Calvyisms, no baby and tantrums

C: "Daddy, can you roll your pants up and make them like underwear?"
D: "You mean like this(rolls shorts up to his bum)"
C: "Yes. (Points and laughs) Underwear pants!"

While eating:
C: "Yummy yummy in the eye!"
Driving in the car:
C: "Mommy, remember that time when you were little and you...."
I can honestly say I do not remember the rest of that conversation, but I thought it was funny.

Ellie is SO funny!!! This girl has started to grow up on us, she is talking so much more these days. I told her to be nice to Calvy (something that is said VERY often in our house) and she said right back to me, "nice" and started to pet Calvy on his leg. It was the way she said it that made it so funny, I think I made her say it at least 30 times.

Life is good and I am SO ready to have this baby, I have zero energy to do anything and have the desire to nest and clean and organize, but a creative brain this is pretty much on hold, so no fun ideas for dinner or fun of clever posts...it's driving me CRAZY! I am tired of my organs giving me problems too. At the beginning of this pregnancy I had kidney stones and now I am showing signs of gallstones. Kidney stones and gallstones S.U.C.K. Suck, I still say kidney stones take the cake, but gallstones are no fun either. I am grateful to have had a healthy pregnancy and to be able to bare my own children though, it is a great blessing.
My poor husband has had to put up with so much lately, I am a basketcase, I have emotions coming out of my ears. I am wanting to buy things and we have NO money, I want to be creative and have no energy to do it, and I want to play with my kids and love them, I want to read comments from people who read my blog, but I have none, I want to sit in front of the TV with a bag of doughnuts and watch a real good entertaining show and not have to change the channel because it's so darn inappropriate, and I want to sing like I used to, and have a flat tummy and new clothes, I want to go out and do yard work or go swimming, etc....so for now I will just grab my bag of doughnuts and a glass of cold milk and sit in front of the TV and flip channels until I can't stand it any more then turn it off and cuddle into my husband for some comfort from my horribly boring life. ;0)

Until next time....

Love to you all! Happy Summer!

End of School Tri/Half Way Point/New Baby Carnival/Celebration

We threw a fun little carnival with our friends and their families so we could celebrate the end of the the Tri(our school goes by trimester, not semester) and our half way point, we are half way done!!!! We also wanted to celebrate this new baby coming into our family, we didn't want a formal baby shower because there have been so many babies born into our ward and the other so we just decided to make it an all-in-one celebration.

We had a blast, we ate hot dogs and nachos, Alan made cotton candy with our little cotton candy machine, I painted faces from my comfy little spot in the shade :), and the kids rode bikes and played in the sprinklers....oh I almost forgot Sponge Bob came to our party and brought his twin brother. We had ordered new carseats for the kids and the bpxes they came in were so cool Alan and I were trying to figure out what we could make with them. We ended up deciding that they would be perfect for a Bean Bag toss....so that's where S. Bob comes in. Just look at the pictures, my husband is quite the artist.

Riding bikes, their favorite thing.
Didn't he do a GREAT job? The kids loved these things, Calvy and Ellie just wanted to get inside of them....maybe a future Halloween costume?
Ellie's butterfly didn't last long. Hers was my favorite to paint because I got to choose all the colors. The other girlies were too old and had opinions on such things... :)
I love that face!
I wish I had more of Calvy, he did not want his face painted though and he was much too busy playing to have his picture taken.
;0)It was VERY humid and pretty hot, so we cooled ourselves in the buckets of ice-water left over from our drinks....after everyone left. The R fam stayed and helped clean up....Thank you Thank you! You can see the butterfly faces I painted....I think they turned out. I had no idea how to paint it and wasn't going to attempt in but my friend encouraged me and said that I could....and I did. ;0)
Calvy's face is so funny in this pic.
Do you see that little hand in the upper right hand corner or the table???? Scroll down.

She is our watermelon-a-holic. Almost every picture she has a new piece.

Calvy at the end of the night, nakey for bath time. He wanted me to take a picture of his bum as he shook it for me, but I sadly so no. LOL!

We had so much fun, thank you to all of our friends for coming, it would not have been as much fun without you.

...now we just need this baby to come, and it will be a true celebration.

Calvy

Talking to Alan, pretending he is Daddy, as he was about to go down into the basement.

C:Hey Calvy, make sure you don't let those stairs hit you.
D: Ok.
C: Ya, that would be a good idea.

The things he comes up with...I just don't know, he's our comedic relief in our story of life.

Watchin, Catchin Fireflies

One of the many things we love about the summers in Iowa are the fireflies

The kids had a BLAST, they got to stay up passed their bed time, it is usually still light out side when they go to sleep(7pm).Where would we be without Calvy's craziness?

Love this image.
We, well when I say we I mean Alan, caught some fireflies and put them in our old tadpole tank. Alan discovered that if we created a "wind" for them they would light up their bums. It was a funny sight with both me and Alan blowing on these ugly bugs.
They liked it for a while but then decided they didn't want them to stay in their room, so Alan released them back into the wild.
Thank you Lighting bugs for such a fun night!

Calvy bed time conversation...

M: Are you excited to have another baby?
C: Yah.
M: what are you going to do when the baby comes?
C: Change diaper.
M: Change diapers?
C: No, diaper.
M: Oh, just one diaper. Are you going to help Mommy change a diaper?
C: No, I'm just going to do it by myself.

Memorial Day

Our wonderful neighbor invited us over to her parents' house for Memorial Day. We had a BLAST! It was so refreshing to be around family, even though they weren't our family it was so nice to just be in a family setting, Grandma and Grandpas' house with all the kids playing. It helped that they had a beautiful home, delicious food and tons to do and people to talk to.
Calvy all of a sudden started complaining about his back itching, so I looked at his back and there he was a wicked little mosquito sucking away. He had bitten him at least 3 times. Poor guy!
Ellie admiring Calvy's cheese balls...he did end up sharing.
She loved the swing.
Calvy relieving himself....he always takes the chance to pee outside.

Sharing cheese balls, their favorite, they are our sometimes food, so they always take advantage of it when they are available.
Ellie found Calvy's uneaten cake, she managed to make a total mess, but she really like my red, white and blue cake with strawberries and blueberries and delicious butter-cream frosting that the local grocery store sells in their bakery.
This is Calvy keeping away from the grass with his bare feet. He REALLY does not like the way it feels on his feet, "it's itchy" he says.
Ellie posing for Daddy, she had a blast eating Cheetos and swinging and playing with all the kids.

New Blog

I made an addition to my blogging children....check it out.
Look to the right and there it is....Bare Foot n Pregnant.

Love ya'll

Monkey See, Monkey Do!

Due to the lack of comments on my last post I can only assume 2 things; everyone is very busy and had no time to comment, or, and this is what I suppose, it was a very bad post with no pictures. Sorry everyone, I hope to make up for that in this one. I've got some great Calvyisms for you, and some fun pictures.

While preparing to jump in the shower:
C: Mommy, I'm supposed to say, "Ew gross!" when you take your clothes off.
M: Oh really, why? Do I have a big belly?
C: You have a tooty bottom.
M:......

Lately he has been really into mimicking. It usually goes a little something like this:

M: Calvy, go put your shorts on please
C: Go toot my shorts on?
M: Calvin, you heard what I said, go get your shorts.
C: Go get my thorts?
M: Calvin, stop doing that bud, go get your shorts.
C: Ok, tooty mom.
M: You know that is a bathroom word, stop saying it.
....runs into the bathroom....
C: Toot shorts!
M: (ugh, seriously??!!)

He's a crazy boy who is definitely a boy, he never lets us forget it. Should I look forward to Ellie growing up and talking more?

long drives,

Update...sorry it's been a while.

We went on a very quick trip to Chicago to visit our Chiro. Found out that Alan and I are still holding...that is awesome! I feel my body going through detox still, but it is to be expected. This pregnancy has been much easier than my other 2, I am hoping that being under this care will help me with nursing and postpartum...fingers crossed.

Calvin and Eleanor are as busy as ever. They definitely keep me running. Running to the sound of screeming! These kids love to antaganize eachother. Ellie is talking much more and with that comes much more sassinesss.
Her favorite words/phrases:
Mine
Nnnnno
ooosh(shoes)
nigh nigh(night night)-this one she has actually said quite a bit lately, unfortunately it is always around 4 o'clock.
beebee(binkie, blankie, sippy, baby,Calvy)
Yah
Hi
Bye(bite , bye-bye)

She is SO sassy but is such a lover, she especially loves babies, so I am pretty excited to bring one home.

Calvin is such a big boy! His favorite things right now are Dinosaurs, movies, juice, and pretending he is Daddy. Tonight we had to play along with his pretending I was Ellie and Alan was Calvin, Ellie was Mommy and Calvy was Daddy...you got that? alan even took them to school for a few hours to give me a break...ya I know I have the most fantastic husband. He said everyone there said how cute our kids were, this makes Daddy and very proud Daddy. ;) While they were there Calvy was telling everyone that he was Daddy and Alan was Calvin and Ellie was Mommy, I can just imagine how that went..."no no, I am Daddy and he is Calvy and this is Mommy"
We are able to talk and reason with Calvin much more these days, I swear he grew up over night. We have had a challenge lately with him and yelling at us and crying and throwing fits when he does not get his way. We have decided it is the age and us not being serious enough with our threatening of time-out or other consequences. We are doing better, there is less yelling on both sides and Calvy seems to be happier and has more fun. It really has worked, he realizes there is a consequence so he tries hard to make good decisions. Being a parent is tough! He's such a tender, sweet little guy that we have to be very careful on how we punish him, Ellie is very different....very very different. Like I said parenting is HARD work...Heaven help us. ;)

We drove to Chicago and back this past weekend to see our chiropractor. Alan and I are still holding our adjustments, so that is a VERY good thing. I am told that this labor will be quicker and less painful then the last. Woot woot! I have never felt so good while being pregnant, and I know it is the chiropractic care I am receiving. I threw my back out with both of my other pregnancies and was down for the count, and I have had NOTHING close to that with this one. It has been fabulous, I feel great! Thank you NUCCA and thank you Dr. Dickholtz....life savers.
