Winter's Past
Look at this cute little boy. I can not believe we have been here for over a year now and that this will be our second winter and our second child. Time is going by so fast, I don't know what I'm going to do. One of these days I'm going to turn around and I'll have a 5 year old and not know where the time went. Holy COW!

...Wait a second, I have 2 kids.
Our little baby girl is getting bigger, and I am too in return. She is very active, my stomache is always moving. She has picked up the hick-ups, she has them about 3 or 4 times a day, but nothing compared to her big brother who had them atleast 8 times a day..no joke. I can already tell that she is not going to be a mild mannered as her brother, but I still think she'll be a sweety. I am carrying her much lower than Calvy, and she seems to hurt me a lot more than he ever did. Her kicks are like kungfoo kicks that seem like they are going to break the surface. I often jumo in surprise and pain during quiet times at church or restaraunts. It's a little embarrassing but very uncontrollable, it's just a relfex for my to jumo and say "owe" when I'm being kicked that hard, especially when it's in a less than comforatble spot, if you know what I mean.
We are so excited for her and have no idea what to expect with a girl, although we would not be surprised if when "she" is born that "she" were actually a "he". Alsy and I both have our doubts, but we'll see.
We are hoping we didn't use up all our cuteness on the first one...after seeing little Calvy it's hard to think how we could have a cuter kid. We can't wait to have another baby in the house, we are remembering how much fun it was, we're not quite to the part of our memory where it was super hard, but I'm sure we'll get there. I can't wait to get her out and see her, and finally be able to give her a name. And also to be back to my normal size, man, I forgot how rough it was being 2 people for so long. I can't wait to just be ME again.

Memory Purposes
I have a few things that I have been wanting to write down so that I won't forget them. Writing is not one of my strong points(bad handwriting, and bad carpotunnel) so typing is the way to go for me, even though typing is not one of my strong points either. :)
Calvy has become such a ham and such a big boy, I love being his Mommy. Recently he has become quite the parot, repeating everything we say, good or bad. The other day we were doing something in the kitchen and I must have dropped something and was acting frustrated. Calvy must have noticed the change in my attitude and said, "Are kinneen me?" It took me a second to realize what he was saying and it took the next day when we were in the car to figure out where he had even gotten it from. The next day while driving a car pulled out in front of me in a very "Iowa driver" sort of way and my response was "Are you kidding me?!" and there in the backseat my little parrot says, "kinneen me?!" So now whenever he senses my frustration he says, "kinneen me?!" He's such a cute little boy!
He has also started to join in the conversation while Alsy and I are talking. Usually he'll just repeat the last word of each sentence. In the car this evening while going to pick up some dinner(because my kitchen is a disaster after 3 pots of milk boiled over and burned to the stove and pots, but that is another story having to do with Husbands and their messes...I love you babe!). Alsy and I were talking about whatever we were talking about and Calvy in the backseat just kept repeating the last word we'd say. It makes me feel bad when he does it because I know he just wants to be included. So I turned aound and said something like "Oh ya?" and he looked at me and said, "yep". This continued till we got our food, and then all he could say was "Fetz Fye".
Yes, I am still going, I told you this is for memory purposes....
Not only does he mimmick all we say he also mimmicks all we do too. He has done it several times, like while I'm standing in the kitchen leaning on the counter talking with Alsy he'll come stand right beside me and stand exactly the way that I am, after looking at me several times to make sure he has gotten it right. This evening while I was preparing my lesson for tomorrow he noticed that I had put down my pen to pick at my fingernails. He promptly put down his marker and started to mimmick my motions. He is so funny, we catch him doing this all the time, he wants to be big so bad. I love this little guy.
We are trying to get him used to the idea that I am going to have another baby, so we often point to my belly and ask him what it is. His usual response is to say "baby" and then kiss my tummy. After he kisses my tummy I say, "Aah, you're such a good big brother". He recent response the the tummy question is to now say baby and kiss my tummy and then after kissing my tummy he says," Aah, uh budder" while tilting his head to the side as to mimmick someoneso super sweet.
We just checked out a book from the library about a family who is having another baby. It matches our family almost perfectly. It is a family with the mom and dad and an older son, a black dog with a red collar and they are having a little girl. When we read the book Calvy points at the boy, and the dad and says who they are, and then points to the dog and says, "nissun", he does look a lot like our dog, given that our dog is also black and also has a red collar. Tonight I tried to go a little further and really try to get him to understand that ther is a baby in mommy's tummy and that she would come out. I think I might have gone too far. I turned him toward me so he could see my face and I asked him if he knew he was going to be a big brother just like in the book. I pointed to the baby in the picture and said there was a baby just like that in my tummy. So he lifted up my shirt and began to kind of dig at my tummy trying to get her out. He kept saying "Oogh, Scuck. Out?" I then had to explain that she wouldn't come out until after Santa Clause came. We had to go through this about 3 times, but I think he might understand now. We ended with him smiling and saying "ya".
Well, it is getting late and we have early church so I'd better get my booty in bed. Thanks for reading.

i heart

These are supposed to be on our "i heart" blog but I wanted to get these up and we are having blog issues.
We really want to do better pictures, but for now, this is what we have. Hopefully my camera isn't completely horrible and you can atleast make out the shapes.
BTW, our show was a blast. Due to poor planning on the shows part, we only had about 300 people show up versus the projected 1000 we were expecting. So that was a let down, but we enjoyed ourselves and are excited to do it again...next year. :)

Wood Anyone.

So Alsy and I discovered something this evening, about 5 minutes ago to be exact, thanks to my Elephant brained friend Nicole.
We had forgotten our 5 year anniversary, it was this past Friday. Luckily we did go out do dinner at the local Chuck-E-Cheese with friends and all the kids. An interresting way to celebrate an anniversary.
I looked it up and wood is the traditional gift for 5 years. Not sure what to get, but maybe I'll think of something absolutely amazing that will blow his mind...ya right. We are planning on going out to dinner and a movie this next Friday, and this time no chuck or Calvy. Any volunteers for babysiting? j/k
Thanks Cole!

I'm Thankful For..
Ok, let's just face it, I am not very good at this posting everyday. So lets make it a "whenever I get around to it" Thankful Post.
Today I am thankful for great friends and family. I just had a great little Shower thown by my best friends. I had fun sittin and chattin with everyone. I only got one picture, and I honestly have ZERO energy to go grab my camera and load it up. My friend took some others so I'll have her email them to me.
Thank you so much to my friends for coming and buying my baby gifts, and for my awesome friends who did so much planning and preparation to throw me such a great shower.
Oh man I can't wait to show you a picture of all the sweet treats and the super adorable diaper cake.
Thank you all so much!
p.s. I just caught wind that there might be a shower, held by proxy, for me in AZ. Thank you so much family...you rock the house.

That's what I call singing
This is Adele, she is amazing. I tried to get her music video but they are all blocked. Look it up on Youtube, it's a cool video. Hearing her sing makes me think I chose the wrong path. I think that's how we all feel some times huh. Man I wish I could sing like her. Alsy you better watch out, we might have to start paying for a voice coach.
An eventful week so far.
Calvy decided to open up his sippy cup, which was full of prune juice, all over his rocking chair and library books. That was a really fun morning. I have been praying for patience, and I am defiantely being taught.
Well, like I;ve said before I hate how Blogger loads the pictures. They are always out of order. We made Turkeys this morning.

Here he is coloring it, and he is actually happy. That changed really quick. That is why I never got a finished product picture with him in it, he was in time out.

I was making Taquitos for dinner on Monday and our stupid refrigerator froze all of my tortillas, so when I fried them they fell apart and made a HUGE mess. Alan called and said that there was a chili cook off at the school and asked if I wanted to go. So, he came and got us and we went. It was a lot of fun, and lot of drinking, but a lot of fun. They had face painting and balloon making, and popcorn, and a ton of chili. I had about 2 bites of 2 different chillis and decided I was done, it was really spicy.

Calvy had a lot of fun, he gota balloon hat, a maraca, a spiderman balloon, his face painted and Daddy got an Octopus, I didn't get a picture of it, but it was HUGE and hilarious watching him carry it around. We had fun and it was cheap. Afterward we did a drive-by Cup-caking to some of our friends, for FHE. It was fun.

Playtime on Sunday
We wanted to keep the TV off this last Sunday so we decided to play with Calvy. We tride to think of some games we could play with him, but he's a little young for that. So, we got out his little farm house(you might remember this from my sweet buys, it was a $1 at a garage sale with all the people).
Our house was a little cold, so we are all bundled up. Calvy was loving all the little people. We put them all over him, in his pockets, in his hood, in his jacket. He loved it.
I got video of it, but not any pictures. But he would open the barn door and say "Hola Daddy", and close it and say "Adios Daddy". It was so cute. I'll try and get the video on. He had to sit and take a little poo, so in the video he's trying to poo and say Adios at the same time, it's really funny.

Calvy loves to step over that drain pipe, and back over again. I'm not sure why, but he'll do it several times while we're outside.
Nixy, he is hilarious. He pretty much just keeps a look out while we're outside. I'm not sure what he's looking for, but I'm pretty sure it's Squirels.

Well it's Day 9.
I should be onto the 9th thing I am thankful for and yet I am falling short. This post I will be playing Catch-Up. So here is a list of 5 things that I am most Thankful for all the days I have missed.
5. I am very thankful for warmth. Where ever it may come from , I am Thankful for it. It is a chilly 33 degrees outside, and whenever and wherever I can find heat, I soak it up. Thanks to Sam's Club and Craigs List for the sweet heaters that keep us warm, which in turn will also (hopefully) help us save some money this winter.
6. I am Thankful for a handy husband. Alsy is so good at fixing things and engineering them to work the way we want them to. He saves us so much money on vehicle repair and maintenance. He's just great to have around the house, I love it.
7. I am SO Thankful for Chiropractic Care, Free Chiro Care. It has been so nice throughout this pregnancy to be able to go to the Chiro and get some relief from my aches and pains.
8. I am Thankful to be a mother. Although I do complain, and life IS hard, I do love being a mother. Calvy is so sweet, he has such a fun personality and loves to love us. We are excitedly awaiting our little girl and can't wait to meet her. Calvy is so cute, he touches my belly and says "bay-beeeeee" and then gives it a big hug and kiss. Alsy has surprised me a few times as to how excited he is. With Calvy he never really kissed or touched my belly, and with this one he is very into that. I can tell we are all excited to have a little girl in the family.
9. Last but certainly not least. I am grateful for prayer. I love that wherever I am that I can pray. that I have this long distance Walky Talky that I can turn on and use whenever I need to. And in realtion, I am thankful for answers to prayers. I made it to church today, on time, and that was a definate answer to my prayers.

Well, here we go again.
I want to go on vacation to a remote spot with just me and Alsy(no more A's and C's it's Alsy and Calvy...FYI), I want to leave our kids behind, including the one inside of me. I am ready to be just one person again, and ready for my almost 2 year old to wait till he's 2 to act like this. Holy Cow this boy can throw a tantrum. Poor kid, I kinda lost it on him today, a few times. I think I need a girls night...any takers? Until tonight I have felt pretty much like I was done, I wanted nothing to do with kids or being pregnant, that is until I started to blog hop. It seemed like every blog I went to made me feel better, some made me homesick and others just made me realize that I can do this. So for today's thankful spotlight.....
I am thankful for Tender Mercies(and a husband who can help my pregnant mind remember Elder Bednars name and the name of his talk "Tender Mercies") I know that my Father in Heaven truly does love me, even though I have yelled at my child and said a couple bad words under my breath, and some not so under my breath, and haven't been too thankful for this enormous gift of being able to be pregnant with another sweet baby. I know that He wants to help me and that my little trials and bad days mean something to Him, because they mean something to me. I am grateful for a Husband who tried deserately to help me even though he has so much on his plate already. And for his sweet advice to pull out my scriptures. I know I do not deserve him and yet he was reserved for me. I am truly grateful for a Heavenly Father and His son, my Savior. I know they care, and Their unconditional love and forgiveness will never stop amazing me. I'm grateful that They care enough to let me have moments like these, sweet reminders of where I come from and who I can become.
In short, I am thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and for His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have been raised in the gospel and to have known from a very young age that I am a daughter of God, and that, that makes me sepcial.
Thank you to all who's blogs have touched me tonight, and I apologize for my comments, I think I might have ranted and vented a little on a few.

Change Has Come
Well, today was hard for me to find something that I am thankful for, with the elections ending the way they did, and a son who is crying non-stop, a house tat's a mess and a To-Do List a mile long.
But I am thankful for a President, and for our country and for the ability we have as a country to choose who we think is best qualified to run our country.
I will continue to pray for our Country and hope for the best. It will be interesting to see how we all turn out.

2. Cassie-She is one of my best friends who is constantly coming up with a fun and crafty idea, and finishes almost all of them. :) She is a great mommy who loves her little girly. She is always in control and loves it. I love her, she is such a great example to me.
3. Chrsita- This is one amazing mom, not only is she beautiful on the ouside, but extremely gorgeous on the inside, she has such a great spirit and desire to help others and make them feel included. She loves her little girls so much, you can see the burden it puts on her, but she carries it well. She is such a kind hearted person who seems to have a LOT of unfortunate sad things happen and yet she is a sweet fun person to be around. She like most woman loves children, and though she has not yet been able to experience motherhood, she is already a great mother to 24 children 8 hours a day. She works so hard and loves to play hard too. She loves children and can't wait for that time to come when she can have her own. I love her so much, she was pretty much my saving grace when we moved here, I wouldn't have made it without her.
5. Jill-After years and years of tears and fear that she would never have her own children to love she has joined the other side. She is now a mommy and has been for the last year. While trying to get pregnant everyone around ber seemed to be having baby after baby. She never once seemed angry or jealious, only happy for the others. We got to share a little over a year together experiencing the same sadness that comes when you don't get that baby you want so badly. After a year and a half I finally got pregnant and seemed to leave her in the dust. She was such a great person, she held up like a true family member should, she came to my shower and congratulated me, and bought me gifts, she showed me the love that I seemed to have forgotten to give her. I love her so much, she is such a great mom, she truly does love her little babies. She is the epitemy(sp) of selflessness.

Full of Thanks

Ok, so I got this idea from a friend who got it from another friend, for each day of November I will attempt to remember to post one thing I am thankful for.
So today I am especially thankful for Friends. Our friends have truly become our family here in Iowa. We have so many good friends that have taken us in and have truly shown us what love is. We had a break-the-fast over at our friends the Eagar's and we had so much fun. Being together with all of our friends and talking and having a good time, it's such a great substitute for family when you don't have any around. Thank you everyone for such a fun night.
I am also thankful for callings and the people we serve with. I have the most amazing woman serving with me in the Young Women's Program. Between family being in town, being sick and having a sick kid I have missed many meetings and mutual activities. They have been so great and have totally taken up the slack for me and not complained. I love our presidency. Thank you Liz and Rachel for being so awesome and understanding, I am truly thankful for you.

Grandparents ROCK...visits rock.
We were so excited for them to come and super sad to see them go. C had a 105 temp the morning they caught their plane so after a blessing, Tylenol and a cool bath we got it down to 99.9, which happened to be around 5 in the morning, after going to bed at 1am. We got to catch up on some sleep until C woke up roaring to go, no fever in sight. That was a long day.
A's Parents.

This is how their trip went. C asking to read a book, one right after the other. This is his Johny Tractor book that G-pa got for him at the Machine Shed. He is in love with it, he has it completely memorized. It begins with, "Hi, I'm Johny Tractor" and ends with "With my strong dependable motor I can work all day" So when C grabs the book he says, "Hi...All Day". It's really funny, and super cute.

A's parents came in town for a few days and it was so fun. I love having family around. A's parents are so giving and s willing to help out, they kept telling us to go out and they would watch C for us, but we wanted to spend as much time with them as possible until they left. We didn't do much while they were here, but we definately did eat, and we ate very good.

Here we are at Outback. I was really not feelin well so we ended up getting our food to go, kinda sums up their wntire visit, I had a hard week.
Carving Pumpkins
Well, I hate the order Blogger puts it's pictures in because they always seem to go in backwards. So here we are from Finish to Start. And yes, I am getting bigger, and yes I do have a very pregnant face and butt. January can't come fast enough.

A drew this face all by himself. It's a pretty sweet face if I do say so. I will carve a white pumpkin every year, they are so much easier. They are softer inside and they don't smell as bad as orange pumpkins. A also drew that bat for C on his little pumpkin.

A's got a nice lookin QC face goin on...he wasn't too keen on pictures that day.

There's that pregnant face we're all excited to see go in January.

We had a lot of fun, we carved these on Halloween morning so we got to set them out for one day, and even then we forgot, so I set them out this morning. We're very on top of things around here.

We went to trunk or treat last night and dressed C up as Dwight from The Office, A dressed up as Jim and I dressed up as pregnant Jan. We were a great little group, no one knew who we were. It was pretty sad. C made a grat Dwight, when he'd wear his glasses, which was NEVER. Anyway, it was still fun.
