I have a few things that I have been wanting to write down so that I won't forget them. Writing is not one of my strong points(bad handwriting, and bad carpotunnel) so typing is the way to go for me, even though typing is not one of my strong points either. :)
Calvy has become such a ham and such a big boy, I love being his Mommy. Recently he has become quite the parot, repeating everything we say, good or bad. The other day we were doing something in the kitchen and I must have dropped something and was acting frustrated. Calvy must have noticed the change in my attitude and said, "Are kinneen me?" It took me a second to realize what he was saying and it took the next day when we were in the car to figure out where he had even gotten it from. The next day while driving a car pulled out in front of me in a very "Iowa driver" sort of way and my response was "Are you kidding me?!" and there in the backseat my little parrot says, "kinneen me?!" So now whenever he senses my frustration he says, "kinneen me?!" He's such a cute little boy!
He has also started to join in the conversation while Alsy and I are talking. Usually he'll just repeat the last word of each sentence. In the car this evening while going to pick up some dinner(because my kitchen is a disaster after 3 pots of milk boiled over and burned to the stove and pots, but that is another story having to do with Husbands and their messes...I love you babe!). Alsy and I were talking about whatever we were talking about and Calvy in the backseat just kept repeating the last word we'd say. It makes me feel bad when he does it because I know he just wants to be included. So I turned aound and said something like "Oh ya?" and he looked at me and said, "yep". This continued till we got our food, and then all he could say was "Fetz Fye".
Yes, I am still going, I told you this is for memory purposes....
Not only does he mimmick all we say he also mimmicks all we do too. He has done it several times, like while I'm standing in the kitchen leaning on the counter talking with Alsy he'll come stand right beside me and stand exactly the way that I am, after looking at me several times to make sure he has gotten it right. This evening while I was preparing my lesson for tomorrow he noticed that I had put down my pen to pick at my fingernails. He promptly put down his marker and started to mimmick my motions. He is so funny, we catch him doing this all the time, he wants to be big so bad. I love this little guy.
We are trying to get him used to the idea that I am going to have another baby, so we often point to my belly and ask him what it is. His usual response is to say "baby" and then kiss my tummy. After he kisses my tummy I say, "Aah, you're such a good big brother". He recent response the the tummy question is to now say baby and kiss my tummy and then after kissing my tummy he says," Aah, uh budder" while tilting his head to the side as to mimmick someoneso super sweet.
We just checked out a book from the library about a family who is having another baby. It matches our family almost perfectly. It is a family with the mom and dad and an older son, a black dog with a red collar and they are having a little girl. When we read the book Calvy points at the boy, and the dad and says who they are, and then points to the dog and says, "nissun", he does look a lot like our dog, given that our dog is also black and also has a red collar. Tonight I tried to go a little further and really try to get him to understand that ther is a baby in mommy's tummy and that she would come out. I think I might have gone too far. I turned him toward me so he could see my face and I asked him if he knew he was going to be a big brother just like in the book. I pointed to the baby in the picture and said there was a baby just like that in my tummy. So he lifted up my shirt and began to kind of dig at my tummy trying to get her out. He kept saying "Oogh, Scuck. Out?" I then had to explain that she wouldn't come out until after Santa Clause came. We had to go through this about 3 times, but I think he might understand now. We ended with him smiling and saying "ya".
Well, it is getting late and we have early church so I'd better get my booty in bed. Thanks for reading.

blogging is the best way to write down all of these cute things. I love this age - they are so much fun!
oh, boys! aren't they wonderful?! i loved your super cute stories about him mimmicking you!! children make your heart so full!! i feel like everyone i know is having another baby and even though cody's only 14 months, i'm already itching for another one!!
blogging is my journal. I love this age when they start talking. Parker talks all the time. I am amazed at all of the words he picks up evryday. We have great conversations. It makes me happy!
That's so cute he tried to get her out of your tummy! He sounds just like Jaxon. Jax tries to do and say just about everything he sees or hears me and Devin do. It's so cute. I almost don't want him to talk good b/c it's so fun to hear him say words wrong, but so CUTE!
I thought 1 kid was tough, but 2 little ones is chaos sometimes! But, also double the joy! I don't know how moms do it with more kids! My friend had 5 kids under the age of 4! (2 sets of twins) I think I would die! I guess as more come, the others get older and less demanding of your time, but our second sure was an adjustment for me!
