Memorial Day
Our wonderful neighbor invited us over to her parents' house for Memorial Day. We had a BLAST! It was so refreshing to be around family, even though they weren't our family it was so nice to just be in a family setting, Grandma and Grandpas' house with all the kids playing. It helped that they had a beautiful home, delicious food and tons to do and people to talk to.
Calvy all of a sudden started complaining about his back itching, so I looked at his back and there he was a wicked little mosquito sucking away. He had bitten him at least 3 times. Poor guy!
Ellie admiring Calvy's cheese balls...he did end up sharing.
She loved the swing.
Calvy relieving himself....he always takes the chance to pee outside.
Sharing cheese balls, their favorite, they are our sometimes food, so they always take advantage of it when they are available.
Ellie found Calvy's uneaten cake, she managed to make a total mess, but she really like my red, white and blue cake with strawberries and blueberries and delicious butter-cream frosting that the local grocery store sells in their bakery.
This is Calvy keeping away from the grass with his bare feet. He REALLY does not like the way it feels on his feet, "it's itchy" he says.

Monkey See, Monkey Do!
Due to the lack of comments on my last post I can only assume 2 things; everyone is very busy and had no time to comment, or, and this is what I suppose, it was a very bad post with no pictures. Sorry everyone, I hope to make up for that in this one. I've got some great Calvyisms for you, and some fun pictures.
While preparing to jump in the shower:
C: Mommy, I'm supposed to say, "Ew gross!" when you take your clothes off.
M: Oh really, why? Do I have a big belly?
C: You have a tooty bottom.
M:......
Lately he has been really into mimicking. It usually goes a little something like this:
M: Calvy, go put your shorts on please
C: Go toot my shorts on?
M: Calvin, you heard what I said, go get your shorts.
C: Go get my thorts?
M: Calvin, stop doing that bud, go get your shorts.
C: Ok, tooty mom.
M: You know that is a bathroom word, stop saying it.
....runs into the bathroom....
C: Toot shorts!
M: (ugh, seriously??!!)
He's a crazy boy who is definitely a boy, he never lets us forget it. Should I look forward to Ellie growing up and talking more?

long drives,
Update...sorry it's been a while.
We went on a very quick trip to Chicago to visit our Chiro. Found out that Alan and I are still holding...that is awesome! I feel my body going through detox still, but it is to be expected. This pregnancy has been much easier than my other 2, I am hoping that being under this care will help me with nursing and postpartum...fingers crossed.
Calvin and Eleanor are as busy as ever. They definitely keep me running. Running to the sound of screeming! These kids love to antaganize eachother. Ellie is talking much more and with that comes much more sassinesss.

She is SO sassy but is such a lover, she especially loves babies, so I am pretty excited to bring one home.
Calvin is such a big boy! His favorite things right now are Dinosaurs, movies, juice, and pretending he is Daddy. Tonight we had to play along with his pretending I was Ellie and Alan was Calvin, Ellie was Mommy and Calvy was Daddy...you got that? alan even took them to school for a few hours to give me a break...ya I know I have the most fantastic husband. He said everyone there said how cute our kids were, this makes Daddy and very proud Daddy. ;) While they were there Calvy was telling everyone that he was Daddy and Alan was Calvin and Ellie was Mommy, I can just imagine how that went..."no no, I am Daddy and he is Calvy and this is Mommy"
We are able to talk and reason with Calvin much more these days, I swear he grew up over night. We have had a challenge lately with him and yelling at us and crying and throwing fits when he does not get his way. We have decided it is the age and us not being serious enough with our threatening of time-out or other consequences. We are doing better, there is less yelling on both sides and Calvy seems to be happier and has more fun. It really has worked, he realizes there is a consequence so he tries hard to make good decisions. Being a parent is tough! He's such a tender, sweet little guy that we have to be very careful on how we punish him, Ellie is very different....very very different. Like I said parenting is HARD work...Heaven help us. ;)
We drove to Chicago and back this past weekend to see our chiropractor. Alan and I are still holding our adjustments, so that is a VERY good thing. I am told that this labor will be quicker and less painful then the last. Woot woot! I have never felt so good while being pregnant, and I know it is the chiropractic care I am receiving. I threw my back out with both of my other pregnancies and was down for the count, and I have had NOTHING close to that with this one. It has been fabulous, I feel great! Thank you NUCCA and thank you Dr. Dickholtz....life savers.
