So I had a really cool title that I was going to start using for my little boys cute sayings but I have completely forgotten it. Marci, your going to have to help me out here.
I wanted to start off with some frequent sayings in our house, I'll let you guess who says it and in what setting.
Don't put that in her ear.
Look at this booger I found on the floor.
Can I have a snack of that?
I'm done peeing!
Shake it off.
Hey, get off of her.
Don't sit on her like that.
I don't understand whining.
Can you say please?
She's poopy!
Did I just toot?
We only color on paper!
We love to read in our house, books are a part of our daily life. So you know how in a book it will say, "'I love this", said Pete"? Well this morning while doing some Spring cleaning in the kitchen(SO ready for Spring) I overheard Calvy playing with his cars, it sounded a little something like this.....
"watch this, said Sally
I'm watching, said Tractor
Why did you do that? said Lightning
Because I did, said Sally" said Calvy.
I know he has said many other funny things lately but I have been a crappy mom and haven't written any of them down. I have since repented and am trying harder to write them down before I forget.
Little tid bit on our little Ellie. She is CRAZY! She is the most active, sassy little girl. I know some other parents out there would disagree and say that their daughter is the most sassy, so what I have come to conclude is....girls are sassy and pretty much born busy bodies. She knows everything that goes on in the house. she cracks us up all the time with her little faces and sayings that she has. When she "talks" she sounds like this, "Bum bum bum bim bim bim bim?" it always goes up in pitch like a question. She's such a blast, we can't wait to meet the new member of our family.
Note on new baby, we had our ultrasound and yes we stuck to our guns and we did not find out the sex, against a certain husbands wishes, "we" think it'd be fun to leave it a surprise. This certain husband thinks there is still hope of finding out though. I have the makings of Plecenta Previa(when your placenta grows over your cervix. In most cases as the uteris grows it will push the placenta up and back. In other cases you would need a C-section, because the placenta would be in the way of baby.) so we have to get another ultrasound done at 30 weeks to make sure my placenta has moved up and out of the way. We are not too worried, but we are praying it will go back up so avoid a c-section. Alsy thinks it's kinda funny because I was shooting for a completely drug free labor this time. It will be interesting to see how this one works out. Anyway, other than a lot of crampy contractions, which I am assured is normal for me, both of us are healthy and happy.

Calvy's friend M: He threw snow dust on my face.
This was said after Calvy threw a snowball at her and it hit her in the face. We had been sledding for over an hour so all the kids we tired. We tried to get Calvy to say he was sorry but he couldn't bring himself to do it, I don't think it was because he didn't feel bad, I think it was because he felt REALLY bad. He started to cry so I picked him up and said that it was ok, and he just kept saying "no it's not" I think he felt really bad for hurting his friend. Sorry M.
Calvy is pretty funny these days. The other day in there was a lot of snow in the grocery parking lot, and while we were walking through it I could hear Calvy say "this is quite slippery" So cute.
He has been saying a lot of other funny things too but I can't remember them...I know I stink. Oh that reminds me, last night while sitting next to me he said "mom you stink like a walrus".....well....thank you?
He is growing up so fast, he is FINALLY potty trained and doing SO well. He has been dry 2 nights in a row. This morning my alarm went off and then we heard something, then figured out in was in the bathroom, we realized it was the stool being moved and then we heard a water fall. ;) Calvy had gotten up and gone pee pee all by himself. This may not seem amazing to those of you cool moms who have had your 3 year old potty trained for a while, but for us this was a first and we are so proud of our big boy. You might even say that he got a cookie before breakfast. ;)

My Favorite Valentine's Day
Today I was thinking back to past Valentine's Days and trying to remember a favorite gift I had received so that I could think of something fun to get for my kiddos this year. It was interesting the Valentine's Day that came to mind is probably one that you wouldn't think would be counted as one of my Favorites, but it is.
I think I was a Senior in H.S. and I remember coming home from school on Valentine's Day, walking through the back door into the kitchen and there on the table were 3 bottles of Bath and Body Works Body Mists with a balloon tied to each of them, one for me and my two little sisters. I don't remember the specifics of it there may have been more, but I remember that I got Sweet Pea and that it was from my dad. I assume my mom had to have helped him out a little, but he had decided he wanted to give us something for V-day and that really meant a lot to me. My Dad is someone who doesn't always plan a lot in advance, but that's what makes him so fun, he's spontaneous and full of surprises, and this was a GREAT surprise. My Dad holds a special place in my heart, and I'm not sure if it's because we understand each other or we just like each other, but we seem to have always had a special relationship. We're able to forgive each other quickly and we're always happy to see each other, and no matter if I haven't called him or he hasn't called me for a month, we're always glad to hear from each other even for a few seconds.
I remember being a little girl and he asked me why I love him so much, and I said "because you're my daddy" he asked if that was the only reason I loved him At the time I wanted to please him and tell him all of the reasons why I loved him, but I didn't know why I loved him, I just knew that I did. I didn't love him because he was my dad and I had to for that reason, I loved him because he cared for me the way a father should and provided for us in much more than our physical needs, he taught us how to clean a toilet to work hard and to have a LOT of compassion for people in need.
I remember a girl back in Elementary school who I had wondered if she ever heard her dad tell her she was pretty or that he loved her. I felt so sad for her, I had no idea what that felt like, but I knew what it felt like to be pretty and loved. I knew it because my daddy always told me, and I always believed it. What a better place the world would be if every Father told their daughter how beautiful they are and that he loved them.
I am thankful for GREAT parents, and I do not say that loosely, they are great in every sense of the word. My parents sacrificed a lot so that we could have a good plentiful childhood. They made things for us when there wasn't enough money to buy it. I am thankful for my ability to love and for my parents and family who taught me. I love you Mom and Dad.
Tell your child you love them if you haven't today, and if you have tell them again.

Little Ellie and her personality....fireball personality
Daddy decided to take little miss Ellie in the kitchen and do her hair. She walked back into the Dining Room very seriously with her arms at her sides, I asked her if she liked her hair and she said "no" with a scrunchy face and then walked out (Daddy had given her a mohawk). This girl....she is a crack up.
The fun never ends in our house
Daddy was doing a puppet show type thing with a cell phone, opening and closing it as if it were a mouth and using a silly southern voice. This is how part of the conversation went.
A: Do you find me attractive?
C: (smile)
A: Do you find me attractive or just silly?
C: No, I just find you in my room.
Today Daddy was getting our dog, Nixon, to howl by saying "get'm boy get'm". Nixon would then run to the window and bark and howl. Daddy would copy his howling and so Ellie joined in with her cute little howl. Calvy started to ride on his rocking horse and making a horsey sound, so Daddy said to Ellie "go get him Ellie", referring to Calvy on the horse, but she ran to the window and started howling. Too cute! I love our house, it is never boring.

After he scares me "It's just fake Mommy" or "We're just pretending"
If I'm sitting too close to him "Mom, you're bugging me."
If Daddy says something funny to him "Daddy, you're just teasing"
When he is being silly he'll start to laugh and cover his mouth like it's the funniest thing in the world.
My personal favorite.....
M: What do you want for dinner?
C: Poopy.....oops we don't say poopy.
We've been trying to teach him that Poopy is bathroom talk, so he's been catching himself.
I love my family, they are my absolute everything, I couldn't be a mommy without my babies and I couldn't be a wife without my hubby. I am so thankful for these fun times that makes the hard times worth it.......well they come pretty close. :)
